Michael Standaert

Publications: Most recently wrote for the Internet magazine Exquisite Corpse and will have two poems and another Foreign Desk story there in the Fall of 2001. This spring I covered the Lockerbie bombing trial for Salon.com, my first piece of foreign journalism. In the Fall I will have a short story in Snow Monkey. I've had a few other short stories published, and for most of the last four years have been sporadically doing journalism, most recently for the Des Moines Register while finishing up at the University of Iowa. Also wrote sports for about two years. I'm 27, and grew up in Northwest Illinois.
